It’s almost time for a new school year! Man, the summer goes by so fast! This coming year I really want to work hard on building my classroom community during the first days of school. We have about 20 days at the beginning of the year that we work on review and routines. I wanted to add some fun read aloud books to read during this time that will teach students about being a good friend, accepting others, and all the other things that make for a great classroom community. The first book I chose is “The Mine-O-Saur” It’s such a fun book about sharing. I included questions to print on post it notes to use before and during reading.
I also made some fun anchor charts to use during the lesson as well as a fun “poster” to keep up all year to help remind students not to be a mine-o-saur!
Students can then work on the fun crafts after read aloud. I included a fun hat and a writing prompt with a “share-o-saur” craftivity.
Super excited to share this fun read with my students! I feel like it is a great way to start building our classroom community! Thanks for stopping by and you can find this product by clicking on the image below!
